I have never had such a sense of peace and tranquility as I do when I'm doing yoga. There is such beauty, strength and grace in the poses and the meditation brings a different kind of clarity to my mind. This is simplifying things but there is a connection between mind and body, the spirit and the soul. We've all heard how emotions and stress can affect your health. So besides increasing my strength, balance and flexibility my goal is also to rid myself of toxic thoughts, emotions and people. I'll be honest, at first thought on the yoga I was like wow, with that flexibility and those poses my husband is in for a real treat lol, but it's turned out to be so much deeper (no pun intended). I'm also taking Pilates classes and working out pretty seriously at a gym. It's not been an easy journey and I've got a long way to go but I am seeing some results. Maybe not quickly enough. I'm still waiting for the pill that you can take that will let you eat all the chocolate you want and never gain a pound. I still believe in Santa too.

I was filling up the gas tank on my car one day. Now I really do have affection for this car lol. It's a luxury car and she has spoiled me totally but then a thought hit me as I was going past the $50 mark. Why is that I take such good care of my car and put nothing but the best fuel in her but I don't do the same for myself...hmmmmm. Of course before that I had made an effort to get in better shape but honestly that was mainly out of vanity. It seems to be all clicking in my head lately. It's all about self-discovery and fitness and I did hear on Oprah (my guru) that the three things that can give you a natural high are exercise, meditation and sex. Works for me lol. Now I don't want to become one of those health fanatics who lecture you about food and exercise etc because I could still inhale a whole chocolate cake right now...seriously. Ask anyone who has ever had a meal with me. I can eat. My mama didn't raise no salad eaters (Eddie Murphy reference). So I'm not about recruiting folks to do what I do. Just do you and you are alright with me. For now this is me.

This is a video of Ashtanga yoga. This is what I do although I am not nearly this advanced. If they are a 10, I'm about a 2 at this point. Namaste
